Are all dolls sold at MCM from the same year? For example, from the 2005 sale were all dolls 2004/2005 dolls or could some have been from 2002 and 2003 as well? Do they sell ALL of their returns the same year? I'm curious because my MCM Kaya from this year looks a little different from the ones I see at the store, but I don't know if she could be that much older. Thanks for any help!

I don't think all dolls sold at MCM are from the same year. The dolls sold are returns or things like that- so it could be that someone had a doll for a few years, then it got silver eye so they sent it in and got sent a doll with a new head, well the old head could go to MCM where someone could replace the eyes and put that head on a body that had been restrung. (We sent our Kit in to reattach a leg, and she came back with a whole new body, so I'm guessing the old body ended up at MCM) At least when I was there I saw a box marked "Molly heads"- at least I think it was Molly- I just remember thinking it seemed kinda morbid to have a box of heads sitting around! So, all that is said to say I think there are different years of dolls at the sale.

I have been wondering about this too. I was checking over the gorgeous Felicity my SIL picked up for when she went to the most recent MCM sale. The doll has softer vinyl, no body tag, and no asterisk marks on her legs (all of our more recent AG dolls do have those asterisk marks on the inner legs). All of these things have me thinking she could be a bit on the older side. I wish these girls could talk to us and let us know what their stories are!

Jo-- that's really cool about putting together different doll parts. I never even thought of that. The volunteers must be amazingly crafty to do everything!
Shawn--I know I would definitely like to hear some first-hand accounts from a few dolls!

It was sort of interesting when I was at the sale a few years ago, they had the GT dolls in 3 different outfits. I have no idea if they were "aged" the same as their outfits or not. I just went for a doll in an outfit that we didn't have. They may sell out of the GT dolls now though. While I was there I know several of the historical dolls did sell out, but I am not aware of any of the GT totally selling out. Maybe someone who went this year can answer better.

I was also interested. I saw a couple of dolls on ebay with bangs/blond/grey eyes. But they were dressed in the new meet outfit. There hair was beautiful and shiney. Now mine from 1995 is different. Not much lip color and straw like hair. What have you all seen when you go to these sales??

Maybe the doll you saw on Ebay was a blonde doll bought recently that had an eye transplant, or maybe had a wig replacement. I don't know a lot about doll hospitalization... sorry!
